Community Service Invitation

Relay-for-Life-logoRelay For Life, one of Gunnison’s ways of honoring the people touched by cancer, benefits and supports the American Cancer Society. This annual event is an opportunity to support the research, caregivers and anyone involved with cancer. We celebrate with survivors and remember those that have been lost. Relay is at Jorgenson Park on Friday, June 7-8, beginning at 6:00 p.m. We walk throughout the night to recognize that cancer never sleeps.

We welcome any 4-H member, as well as your family members, to join our Relay team and support this great cause. If you do not want to join the team but want to give a donation that would be greatly appreciated. You may go on-line to find out more about the Relay For Life organization and if you want to join our team or donate you may do so on-line by going to http://www.gunnisoncountyrelayforlife.org. We are Team Future Fitters. For questions, more information or to sign up or donate off-line contact Jan Washburn at jan.spann.washburn@gmail.com or Wyatt Lehmann at wyatt.rancher21@gmail.com .

Another part of the Relay event is the Luminaries ceremony. Bags are decorated, have lights put in them and line the track for the evening honoring people who have had cancer that we want to honor. We have these bags available for $5 if you want to decorate a bag and have it displayed on the track for this event. Contact Jan or Wyatt for bags. It is a great way to honor loved ones who have been touched with cancer.
